GA Hanoi. Perspective of New Mobility
Following the example of the architectural monolithic object, the station ensures a connection between the colonial urban forms and the vernacular district marked by the self-help housing. It does not by-pass but crosses. The station distributes on three poles, interconnected by a suspended pedestrian axis. This axis finds its origin in the roads and takes its orientation in overhang of the railroad ways. The programs punctuate the suspended street and group together within transparent islands into a mixed path, vector of fluidity.
Trains, subways, buses, cars, scooters, bikes, pedestrians exist side by side without ever yelling at each others.
Hanoi, political and historical capital of Vietnam, is a busy city currently changing. With the economic boom, the city and its suburbs are subject to significant population growth, the population almost doubled in 2008 with the expansion of the administrative city limits. With more than 6 million inhabitants, Hanoi, literally "city beyond the River" in 2010 celebrated its 1000th anniversary. For the occasion, the ancient capital wanted to modernize itself, through urban and architecture projects, including an ambitious subway system.
The wishs of changes combined to economic and demographic growth, have led to social, societal, environmental and cultural. These developments are reflected in particular by spatial and urban transformations in Hanoi and other Vietnamese cities.
However, one consequence of these phenomena of transition is the organization of the traffic.
Today Hanoi is traffic congestion (causing difficulty of travel), to road accidents, noise and air pollution.
Faced with this challenge, the Popultaire Committee of Hanoi has undertaken a project to develop a public transport system through the town, itself part of a Masterplan in 2050 covering the whole province.
The metro network is not yet complete,so our approach is both pragmatic and theoretical sailing between field research and documentation on the subject. Our study is also based on numerous reports that deal with Hanoi or mobility issues. The architecture of the project proposes a connection between the different scales : the district, city and territory. Each pole is fitted with programs corresponding to the flow and expectations of the future Grand Hanoi in 2050.

The station provides a « transplant »(greffe) between colonial and vernacular urban forms district influenced by autoconstruction.

The interest in 3-pole connected to a station and an architectural monolith is based on understanding of the rhythm of the city of Hanoi and its inhabitants. The city retains a rural culture that is exported by modernizing transport and infrastructures.
We Propose a diversity os stations as a market with freight (fret) across the district, a daily train station served by the metro-wide grand Hanoi and international train station linking Ho Chih Minh and China.
With Its 200,000m², the project has been designed as a green lung in the image of Central Park, where the rail infrastructure fades in trees
The Buildings are naturally ventilated (wind from the east China Sea) by a Canadian well system. Indeed, in the center is arranged a reverse Pluvium (taking the archetype of traditional pagodas) for concentrating the water during the monsoons, and recover in the basement so that it is used at high temperatures, such as for example a fine projection on the glass walls inside patios, reflecting pools in public spaces or use of misters around outside programs.
