The idea of a reversed pyramid, that had been expressed in the Palatine Pyramid project, is here suggested by the very shape of the Cathedral facade, in front of which the project proposes the construction of an Ark, that is also, in its true meaning, a new Baptistery. It reminds us of the ancient one (which ruins are in the same place, under the church-square) where Saint Ambrose christened Saint Augustine, thus evoking the dramatic change of civilisation of those times, in relationship with the similar event that occurs today, with the hope that it would equally lead to a new spiritual opening.
