VENICE RE-CREATION CENTRE
'SPIRITOSA INVENZIONE' by Lapis Architecture received the second prize award in the International Competition of Ideas ‘Venice RE-Creation Centre’ organised by CTRL+SPACE in collaboration with the Associazione Officina Marinoni in Venice.

The new artistic centre in the Lido island (Venice - IT) is capable of offering a unique cultural and polyhedric service of education and leisure, multidisciplinary workshops and spaces for performances.
The issues related to the reconversion were solved with the introduction of one single element that pervades the whole situation in a unifying manner and the aspect of the buildings is not altered as a respectful approach towards the historical values of the place
The buildings are indeed linked by FOOTBRIDGES, a device which acts as a hybrid between architectural object and public space, in the way that it is a structural element that serves a dynamic function. This connection element, at a higher level, displaces the network of paths from the ground level and introduces a whole new set of experiences to the user, new viewpoints and perspectives over the buildings and the beach.

On the ground level, the public space treatment reacts to the existing context in order to create a new topography of ludic activities and functional elements.
