Kirrwiller is a small village in the north of Alsace, France. Its population of 500 contrasts with its major and famous equipment of the Royal Palace, an impressive dancing Cabaret, a bit of Paris in the countryside, attracting an international crowd. The program, much more modest, is a new village hall for the inhabitants of Kirrwiller.
The project, at the outskirt of the village and at the feet of the Hungerberg and Heckberg hills, is built in the slope and its horizontal lines respond to the curves of the distant and the verticals of the bell towers.
This time, the wide openings head towards the village and highlight its rustic skyline, turning the back on the large landscape. Then, to underline this surrealist effect, the perforated back-lit stainless steel façade of the festive and sports hall draws a line of reference for the topographies in tension.

Delicately, the 100% wood project establishes its platform towards the gardens, perfect place for the popular happenings, weddings, dances and musics under the the stars.

The slope of the staircase zigzagged by the laces of the tinted concrete ramp flow under the patio of the oversized wooden canopy, acting as the village square with its slate parvis and the white flowers magnolia.
*
The curves of this parvis are linked up to the entrance where the rounded glass concludes the welcome in agreement with the indian pink paint of the ceiling. Curves and colors respond with resonances with the prestigious neighbour – The Royal Palace Cabaret -.

The triple orientation of the glass façade in the main hall opens on a peripheral covered terrace, and then on the festive meadow, through wide wooden sliding glass doors. During the beautiful days, the inside/outside limit vanishes.
