Suburban House
Because of the house location, set up in the back of the lot, the intervention begins with a first entrance to the site, in which stands out a crafted wall. Made of individual concrete strips arranged in a "zig-zag" pattern, the wall generates a weft that shows surfaces, lights and shadows effects depending on the time of year.
Passing through this first limit, the house acts as a magnet, generating anxiety to know what happens inside and forcing you to walk staring at it.
It has been meant as a communion of single volumes subtly related, three rectangles in plan that became three prisms, with distinctive uses, well defined materials and organization in “L” shape.
The large concrete plaque is the main character. Located transversaly traverses the lot ending on a side closing without reaching the floor.
We sought to convey a serene modernity with confident attitude. Where simplicity allows a stimulate life.
A red axis divides uses, accentuated by the change of floor: planked wood in the private area and smooth cement in the rest of the house.
Integrated spaces provide continuity and promote indoor/outdoor use.
Different skins and textures in the materiality: concrete, aluminum, glass, current and low-maintenance materials, with spirit of non-discomfort.
Proportions designed to be viewed without being intrusive.
