Pure Aldgate is a 417 rooms new build student residential development on Commercial Road in East London. Pure Aldgate’s 19 storeys contain over 11,970 sq m of accommodation and communal facilities on the edge of the City of London.
It is the tallest new-build by BuckleyGrayYeoman to date.
BuckleyGrayYeoman worked with Pure Student Living to develop an interior design scheme that reflects the urban heritage and contemporary trends of East London, creating stylish accommodation with over thirteen room layouts to appeal to different living requirements.
The facade of Pure Aldgate has been developed using a system of pre-cast concrete modules that have been arranged to give an expressive geometry that enlivens the façade, giving it a depth, individuality and visual interest that marks it out on the street as a building of quality.
Pure Aldgate’s double-height entrance creates a strong presence for the building on Commercial Road and ground floor uses, including a reception lounge and a dedicated study space. A separate 255 sq m retail unit takes up the remaining street frontage.
Pure Aldgate is topped off with a 19th floor Skylounge and outdoor terrace a shared space with a café-bar that is open to all residents. The skylounge enjoys a panoramic view across the London Skyline, and highlights the building’s proximity to the business centre of the City of London and the nightlife and culture of East London and Southwark.
