New School of Art in Shoreditch
The New School of Art is proposed as the new artistic icon in Shoreditch, according with evolution and the identity which the neighborhood in the last years.
The building will be a space to learn the main artistic disciplines and at the same time a window where the works of the students and the contemporary artists can be appreciated.
The project is thought as an apparent comparison between the necessary functional space required in a school and the dimension of art, developed into two spaces, a circular one and a square, which are totally complementary.
In this way the proposal is the one of a unique space: all the disciplines of the school have to aspire to art a primary aim. It moves around at a circular space, as the promenade of the student, who embrace all the formation process.
Under the urban profile the school is located as a reference in the neighborhood around, its squared shape and the distance from the street makes it a unicum inside the urban space.
