House L_02
The house L_02 is part of a multi-storey residential building, with exposure on three sides, in the recent housing boom, notoriously sack of Palermo, north of the capital of Sicily. The pre-existing reinforced concrete frame is concealed by new ceilings made of plaster and wood and furniture on design and full height. Similarly, the heating and air conditioning channeled, of the latter, the speakers have been incorporated into the furniture.
The casing housing essentially "white", was deliberately balanced and dynamized by using several types of wood, stones and even plasters grain differently, who have been assigned a function and a precise meaning. The relationship with the external environment is twofold: on one hand to total closure, eliminated the horrific shutters of plastic, through the insertion of dark or floors full height sliding; the other of fusion with a large fixed window in which it is a small opening that draws on himself the curious gaze. On the main facade housing is the only balcony, it becomes a small place to relax, covered with staved teak and in which to enjoy the presence and the scent of aromatic plants.
