Kink is the result of many hours spent in the workshop of Fab Lab Barcelona, dealing with conventional industrial materials and computer numerically controlled manufacturing.

As an attempt to investigate the properties of the materials in order to optimize their performances, the project combines together thinness and strength, lightness and stability.

The structural character of Kink is dictated by specific folds which define the table’s morphology, providing sufficient strength to a 0.5mm thick steel plate to perform as rigid connections.

Kink is made of stainless steel and plywood, detailed with visible bolts, which reveal, within the final product, its process of creation and the possibilities of a new digital-industrial realm.
