The site has only 4 meters in width and the project aims to build effectively a maximum of interior space. The exterior walls are made of 4.5mm steel plate reinforced with 75x75 steel ribs placed at irregular interval and welded together to form a semi-monocoque shell structure. This building is a prototype of architecture for small and narrow urban site. The first and second floors are occupied by shop, the third & fourth floors by offices and the fifth floor is for the client residence. The ceiling height is slightly different at every floor. The floor levels could be easily modified due to the integrity of the external shell system. Various large and small circular windows are randomly placed between the structural steel ribs. This is an extremely flexible structural system for universal uses. The 13 steel panels that composed the exterior walls were all manufactured. The building was once assembled in the factory and then transported in pieces to the construction site. The panels were placed and lifted to the edge of the lot and then welded together on the site.
