BigRock
The project for the new venue for the school consists in the recovery and temporary set-up of a former shed inside an agricultural complex
Founded in 2005, BigRock - Institute of Magic Technologies is one of the most prestigious realities of the 3D animation scenario in Europe, training hundreds of new students every year. BigRock cultivates the future creators of computer graphics magic in cinema, animation and videogames, specialising in 3D and Visual Effects. Many former BigRockers work today for big film production companies like Pixar, DreamWorks and Paramount and their names appear in the credits of some recent great movies. The architectural system used to split out the large vaulted rooms into smaller and suitably insulated spaces is flexible, low cost and removable, and is made of a light metal structure combined with sound-absorbing panels. The articulated layout of the plan allowed to create spaces differentiated by function, connected by a long corridor; the horizontal closure of the various "rooms" has allowed the creation of a mezzanine that can be reached by three galvanized metal staircases.
