This family home was built by the current owner’s grandparents. She was born there and now, after 40 years uninhabited, she returns with much love and enthusiasm to give it a new life with her family. The pre-existing arch and the pavement become the main elements of this integral rehabilitation, using them as a guide to establish the new spatial, material and colour strategies, extracting the essence of the original house. A great curtain brings theatricality, intimacy, subtlety, flexibility, dynamism and colour. While respecting what already exists, the construction elements that are still valid have been reused and several identifying elements of the original house have been restored. With the current needs, there is a new relationship with light, the patio and between the rooms, and new construction and energy technologies have been introduced.
