The internal elements of a crumbling farm building are demolished. The timber trusses and the external walls appear to be in a good state: they can work as a shell - or rather as a setting - for the new house. The stairs, the services and the mechanical equipment are placed in the central area. Neat volumes and autonomous furniture cores free up the space, thus allowing for a peripheral distribution system that frames the rooms’ enfilade and the original house’s fragments.
A detached prefabricated pavilion contains the garage and the plant room. Its steel profiles frame is cladded with black corrugated metal sheets. Between the two buildings, an ancient poplar tree marks the passing of time.
