Our work strives to explore the most compelling meanings of the relationship student/professor in the field of Architecture
I, the former professor, chose to consign the future of one of my built projects to three young architects, my former students at the Accademia di Architettura di Mendrisio, co-founders and partner of their own architectural practice.
For us this very act embodies the fundamental generosity that the practice of teaching should always convey: gifting others with one’s own knowledge.
Generosity, but also pride towards my own students; this passing of the torch will be a conclusive trial of what teaching should be: more than a mere transmission of instruments and notions, but a long lasting intellectual discussion.
The tectonic sculpture which hosts the exhibition is a conjunct project built together as partners, brick after brick, while the metamorphosis of the building takes place from one wall to the other putting in a close dialogue and contrast two different approaches to the same theme and site.
