An extension to the lower level of an existing 100+ year old timber Queenslander, in Norman Park, Brisbane. The project consists of three new rooms housed under a zinc clad gable roof form that draws natural light and garden views into a previously dark and introverted undercroft.

Integrated furniture and deep window reveals encourage occupation at the edge of the building and adjacent garden spaces.
Skylights fill the internal roof volume with natural light.
Brass mesh is set in sliding timber frames to enable ventilation whilst maintaining security.
