S - FLAT
The project consists in a restructuration of a duplex flat of 160m2 located in the 8th arrondissement of Paris, in a typical hausmannian building from the 1870’s.
The entire program is organized around a plywood birch closet that connects and unifies the all appartement.
The closet becomes a staircase leading to the upper floor in the master suite and articulates the main flows around the kitchen.
A transversal interconnection between the kitchen and the living room has been created to recover the crossing light of the space.
The living room is oriented on the fireplace that becomes a large plywood step providing access to the terrace and supporting the cast iron radiators.
The whole intervention is based on the idea of composing a mixed-use of several raw materials into an historical place.
