The project adapts and reuses a dilapidated 19th century house in Oaxaca City to hold a restaurant, gallery, and bar.
The lack of roof provided an opportunity to make the new one a central aspect of the project. A metallic structure under a glass roof houses a grid of truncated cones which allow a view of the stars while functioning as acoustic insulation.
The existing level changes are consolidated into terraces and heightened visually with a central staircase. These terraces are contained by planters which hold large plants and introduce an exterior atmosphere to the space.
