SHUTER International Architectural Design Competition

The building is composed of five stacked main slabs. Each slab, different in shape, has amoeba-like projections which turn out to be eaves and terraces on which trees and grasses are planted. Those projections provide shade for the interior while at the same time they become gardens for the factory and the administration. Because of the concave and convex shape of the slabs, the inside and outside are intertwined both laterally and vertically.

Furthermore, the facade articulated by the projections gives human scale to the large-scale industrial area and creates diversity in the monotonous environment.

The whole building is enveloped by glass walls, contributing to inviting the green nature into the interior and making visible the activities in the building to the outside.
