PORTA NUOVA
Porta Nuova reunites Garibaldi, Varesine and Isola projects in the single biggest urban e development operation ever realized in the heart of Milan: 290,000 sqm of disused land that has been deteriorating for over 50 years.
The creation of a large park, the human dimension, the institutional and social importance of the site are all factors behind plans to develop among environmental urban and infrastructural sustainability.
The project, contains three concepts of sustainability: urban, infrastructure and environmental.
The redevelopment of the Porta Nuova district is seen as the natural evolution of the existing neighborhoods, each with its own history and identity to be safeguarded and enhanced through high quality public spaces, squares, pedestrian paths and the Porta Nuova Gardens.
