This project is located in Italy, Ronago, Como, few hundred meters from the Swiss border.
The design is the result of the collaboration between Mauroparravicini bv. and Marco Ghielmetti architect, aiming for material and design quality applied on passive house standards.
Its mass is the result of the volume of a previously existing, now demolished, residential building, plus a small extension.
The building hosts 4 apartments and a commercial ground floor, plus a semi-underground parking and a private garden with swimming pool.
The massive walls of the residential volume show the well insulated structure in dicotomy with the lightness of the bronze-plated windows and the lamellas of the extension.
The fully glazed ground floor is open to the street and emphasizes the massiveness of the above volume.
The project smartly makes use of the opportunities given on one side by the naturally sloping plot and on the other side by the new local building regulations and restrictions.
The construction started at the end of 2013. Apartments are for sale.
