OP13
60 social colective housing and library of disctrict, Paris 13ème, site of Amiral Mouchez
The project fits in a set of 450 social housing built by the OPAC of Paris in the 1960s. It joins within the fra- mework of the operations of requalification of the site thrown by Paris Habitat (the former OPAC) and the City of Paris: creation of a pedestrian connection between the URBAN DEVELOPMENT ZONE of Rungis and the park Montsouris and the construction of an EHPAD and student housing.
Housing is distributed on two buildings leaned against existing cogs in big flats for families. Unstuck from the ground, they let perceive the green spaces in the heart of island since the pedestrian way in the North. Blocks glazed and colored with halls, common premises
and library of districtare inserted under buildings. The conception of the volumes and the development of building’s envelope allow to guarantee a consumption of 55kWh / m the 2 / year and to obtain the label « Energy-saving Building « requested by the city of Paris (Paris Habitat OPH).
The compact buildings are cut according to the sizes of the Land Use Plan, they are packed by a double ventilated skin consisted of a strengthened outside insulation and a bardage in panels of alveolar trans- lucent polycarbonate, punctuated with wood-aluminum mixed frames with thermal break.
The thoughtful and translucent texture of this envelope gives an indistinct and ambiguousperception of the volumes built in opposition to the rigorous of the exis- ting facades between which they fit.
The spaces are prolongated by «bow windows» in a suspended position on gardens. These complemen- tary spaces assure the thermal regulation: in winter, the glazed volume stores solar contributions and let penetrate the sun into the heart of the flat. In summer, the glazed panels are in opened position, offering
a ventilated space in the shade of the partially high paving stone.
