Museo Santiago Ydañez
Museum of Contemporary Art Santiago Ydáñez International Competition
Our competition entry for the New Contemporary Museo Santiago Ydañez in Puente de Génave Spain is a seamless ensemble that through interconnected pathways offers multiple experiences while linking the existent urban fabric with the surrounding landscape.
The project is designed as a cultural hub - architectural link through a coherence of perspectives that produce a reactive interior/exterior space, which maintain a lightness and fluidity in the many connections to the city.
The architectural language is one of fragmented sculptural forms immersed in greenery, becoming therefore a cultural destination presented as a dynamic yet tranquil landmark where contemporary art and the general public meet. The Main volume, which hosts the permanent collection, cantilevers over the entrance as a welcoming statement and as a symbolic representation of the artist by creating a reactive space with a powerful architectural identity.
