Renzo Piano AWARD 1999
The competition dedicated to young talent of contemporary architecture under 35 had the aim to stimulate new ideas for Lorenteggio Gate in Milan.
This was integrant part of the requalification program of rescuing urban peripheries for which Renzo Piano was been officially appointed for designing new future proposals of developments by the Ministry of Culture and Milan Municipality Entity.
In light of “dynamic physic rules”, my architecture is crystallizing by “knocking over a liquid into the fragmented part of the City” to reach in a very short of lapse of time the condition of becoming cold. Consequently it converts itself into a unique and compact solid and continuum-expanding shape meant to be not longer as FORM but functional program for the periphery.
The shape does lose the meaning of explanation, leaving the concept opens to extend itself in any social and cultural direction of the urban soil.
