Edifício Louveira, 1946
The project is located in the residential district of Higienópolis and takes shape in two parallel buildings lined up in the the long side and separated by a garden at the ground floor.
A ramp unites the two parts and also connects the residences ground floor to the lower garden. The main façades are marked by the horizontality of the floors and the modules of the vertical openings and closures. The clear structure of the buildings is well readable in the facade, and thanks to different modular elements - glass, rectangular panels, venetian windows - it produces a heterogeneous appearance starting from an uniform design.
The central walkways, lowered compared to the apartments floor, distinguish the back side fronts, along with the glass modules that are more forward than the side ones.
The pilotis establish a visual continuity between the garden and the around, thus creating a dialogue between architecture and public space.
