The site for a new detached family house is located a hillside overlooking the entire lower Rhine Valley. The volume follows the slope of the terrain along the contours lines, within the existing site boundaries. Disturbance from the busy road which runs north of the house has been obscured by orientating the common areas southwards and clustering the bedrooms over two floors. The building uses a timber structural system, with all interior and exterior finishes designed in untreated local woods.
